I ran my assignment through a similarity checker and got a higher percentage than expected. Even though I cited all my sources, I’m worried this automatically counts as plagiarism. Do similarity percentages directly prove plagiarism?

No, similarity percentages do not automatically prove plagiarism. They only indicate how much of the text overlaps with existing sources. Properly cited quotations, references, and common academic phrases can all contribute to similarity. Plagiarism is about misrepresentation of authorship, not numerical overlap.
